We are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM till 5 PM and closed on the weekends.
On public holidays we are closed.
Why Does my Car Need Petrol in it When I Drop it off?
Your car will need to be filled with petrol or diesel when you drop it off to us at Auto Trans. This allows us to road test your vehicle after its service or repairs.
What is Included in a General Service?
At Auto Trans, our general service includes:
- Draining of the transmission fluid
- Conduct a full flush of the transmission, including the torque cover where applicable
- Remove and clean the oil pan
- Inspect the fluid condition
- Check for leads
- Remove, clean, and replace the transmission filter
- Refit the pan, using a new gasket
- Fill the transmission with high-quality transmission fluid
How Much Does it Cost to Service My Transmission?
The price of servicing your transmission starts at $295 and will increase depending on the transmission type, age, the length of time since the last service, and if the vehicle requires genuine fluids.
The price could also increase if the condition of the transmission is worse than expected, and requires a more thorough service.

How Long do you Need my Car for a General Service?
For a general service, we require your vehicle from 8 AM until 4 PM.
This allows us enough time to conduct the service, perform a full health check, and conduct hot and cold testing.
How Often Should I Have my Transmission Serviced?
We recommend your car receives a speciality transmission service every 100,000 km or 2 years.
However, this can change depending if you usually partake in city driving, county driving, or off-road driving.
How Much Does it Cost for a Diagnostic?
The cost of your vehicle's diagnostic will depend on how long it takes us to diagnose the issues with your transmission. However, the minimum diagnostic fee is $95.

How Long Does a Diagnostic Take?
To correctly diagnose any issues with your vehicle, it normally takes us the whole day.
However, we will contact you immediately after discovering any issues or if we believe we will require your car for longer than expected.
What is Included in a Diagnostic?
During a diagnostic, we will conduct hot and cold testing and a complete health check on your vehicle's transmission to determine the issue with your transmission.
Once we identify the problem with your transmission, we will contact you to discuss how we can resolve the issue.
If we find no fault with your transmission, but somewhere else in your vehicle, we will refer you to the correct specialist who can help resolve your vehicle's issues.
How Long do you Need my Car for Repairs?
The length of time it will take us to repair your car depends on the issues being addressed.

Can you Source the Parts I Require for my Transmission Repair?
If your transmission requires new parts, we may have to source these from the eastern states or overseas.
In this case, we may require you to place a deposit for parts that are non-refundable and infrequently required.
This is a case-by-case situation, and we will discuss any requirements for a deposit with you once we identify the parts needing replacement.
